Our logo depicts a white buffalo, viewed by many Native Americans as a sign of positive change. To us, information technology (IT) has been our white buffalo bringing with it positive economic change to Reservation, Village and Homestead communities.

We began in 2003 believing that we are stronger united. That together we can help each other overcome challenges and reach for opportunities that not only employ our Native people, but also contribute to the safe keeping of our warrior men and women in the armed forces.

We came together to forge a one-of-a-kind partnership to engage in economic self-determination by using a Western business tool and entering the Small Business Administration 8(a) business development program as a Tribal Government Contractor.

As a government contractor under the Native American Document Conversion Program (NADCP), we have provided hundreds of jobs in rural Native America. We promote technology jobs, and economic growth for the communities of native people. Native People have always supported the armed forces, now they have new opportunities to offer support by accurately converting military manuals. Together we have helped to usher in a new era of technology capabilities located inside our Indian reservations, Alaska villages and Hawaiian homestead communities. The NADCP has strengthened the technical, financial and managerial skills of our Native peoples that are essential for self-governance and self-determination.

IITC is delivering data management and technology services to the U.S. Department of Defense. IITC's capabilities and performance on federal government contracts consists of the conversion of paper or electronic data into more intelligent and easily accessible formats to increase military readiness and safety. Further, the federal government reaps significant savings in terms of reduced costs for manpower, minimized storage space and improved maintenance of equipment.

Eight (8) Tribes, two (2) Alaska Native Corporations and two (2) Native nonprofits share ownership of IITC. The individual owners of IITC are autonomous small business firms owned and operated by Tribal governments or community nonprofits. As such, these firms serve their respective Native communities by engaging in business to advance and perpetuate Native culture and well-being. The list of owners can be found under our Tribal Firms and Owners page.

Our Corporate Mission is to deliver premier data conversion solutions to the federal government by unifying the national capabilities of our Tribal member companies. To create jobs and foster economic development by providing quality products and services that are second to none. Our vision is to be the information technology industry leader creating sustainable economic prosperity and jobs within our communities that honor our Native identity and embrace our collective strengths.

IITC subcontracts and partners with Tribal- and community-owned Native firms with production facilities located in eight (8) states. As a result, our partner firms are able to locate and create hundreds of technology jobs for their communities and states.

The IITC consortium shares the employment opportunities among the twelve tribal partners, accessing each company’s abilities and logistical capabilities. The contracts are the bread and butter of the IITC, and from those business growth has created some very well rounded technology companies, that as they expand into other technologies can only serve to further enhance the lives of native employees and the lives they live. We are joined in our goals with non-Native private sector vendors who have extensive experience in the IT business; they serve as mentors and join us in our mission of being not only economic, but also social entrepreneurs.
